Gifts and Grants

Since 1923, Kosair Charities has helped children reach their potential while overcoming their obstacles. Our mission is to enhance the health and well-being of children by delivering financial support for healthcare, research, education, social services, and child advocacy. This is realized in part through our Gifts & Grants Program and event sponsorship.

We are proud to invest in and fund nonprofits working to solve the problems affecting children we serve in our community.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kosair Charities will be amending our grants process and timeline. We have reopened the grants application process to allow organizations to amend their current asks if the request is no longer applicable for the year. If you have a current capital ask, you will need to amend your application for a programmatic or operational request. We want to utilize our limited resources to make sure organizations receive the necessary support to keep their doors open, lights on, and programs up and running.

If your organization would like to amend your request, please email Meagan Meredith at to release your current submitted application back into draft mode. You will be able to access this on your dashboard in Foundant.

Please have your amended request submitted by June 1st 2020 so we can begin our evaluation process. We hope to have decisions made and communicate with our partner agencies before the end of September. We understand that now is a time to be even more intentional about the resources we are using and the connections we are making to resolve issues and assist children and families.  We are here to listen to your needs and will be here in the future to work with our partners in these uncertain times.

Grant recipients and all partner organizations – please utilize the updated Kosair Charities logo on all print, electronic, and media materials. This includes, but is not limited to, letterheads, newsletters, solicitation letters, television commercials and websites. Contact for brand guidelines and logos.

Kosair Charities Board, staff, grants committee, and executive committee will be working together in the coming days and weeks to determine the best course of action for our partners and the community. We want to make sure we are making informed decisions and are using our resources in a way that will best benefit the community. During this time, we want you to know:

  • Your awarded grants will not be suspended or revoked if your program or project can no longer take place.
  • We understand that you may not be able to complete your program and your key goals may not be reached. We are aware your grant may have to change and have prepared for adjustments in our future annual review
  • We are prepared to be flexible in your needs and requests and hope to be able to offer support wherever is needed within your organization
  • We know the timeline may change for your program or project and are open to changes being made to your current grant

If you need to redirect awarded funds to the current COVID-19 pandemic, please contact Meagan Meredith at with the amount of funds that will be redirected, what the original use was for, what the funds will be used towards now, and where you have applied for other relief funds.
