Louisville, KY— February 9, 2021 — Just days after Christopher 2X Game Changers Masks for Kids initiative launched, Kosair Charities announced their direct support through a donation of 100,000 washable, re-usable, special-order youth masks. Masks for Kids goal is to drive home the importance of kids wearing masks and ensure clean masks are available when needed so kids can return back to school safely this fall. The youth masks donated by Kosair Charities, set to arrive in early March, will help make that possible for kids in our community.
“For nearly 100 years, Kosair Charities has tirelessly worked to enhance the health and well-being of all kids,” said president, Keith Inman. “We are so proud to make this investment for the kids in our own community, to collaborate with Christopher 2X Game Changers, as well as unite with so many in our community who seek to keep kids’ needs first.” Kosair Charities is a granting organization offering support directly to families through the Kosair Kids Financial Assistance Program, as well as through their gifts and grants program, committing nearly $11 million to 90+ partner organizations this year in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
The Masks for Kids idea came to Christopher 2X when his granddaughter had a COVID-19 scare, going to the hospital with upper respiratory symptoms. While the test fortunately came back negative, the positive idea for Masks for Kids was born. “Clean masks must be available to ALL kids, and when they need them,” said Christopher 2X, founder of Game Changers. “It’s important for kids to not only be educated about and comfortable wearing masks which we are trying to show through our PSA’s but the actual masks have to be available to EVERY child. We’re so grateful to Kosair Charities stepping up to make this a reality and being a crucial community partner.”
Mask donation partners include JCPS, Louisville Metro Government, UofL Medical School, and YMCA of Greater Louisville. Donations can be dropped off at any of the 10 YMCA locations in the region through mid-March. JCPS plans to hand out the masks in schools when in-person learning resumes.
MEDIA NOTE: To schedule a time to interview Christopher 2X or Keith Inman please contact Lindsay Wehr. A special live press conference will be held when the large shipment of masks arrive and are distributed in early March.
