54th Annual Brotherhood Banquet + proceeds of a home sale by Phillips Homes help Kosair Kids®
Elizabethtown, KY— May 23, 2019 — Members of the Elizabethtown Knights of Columbus and the RIASOK Shrine Club and have donated proceeds from the 54th Annual Brotherhood Banquet to Kosair Charities. Local home builder Phillips Homes donated the proceeds of the sale of a newly constructed home as part of the fundraising efforts. A check for the grand total of $71,500 was presented Wednesday, May 22 to Kosair Charities representatives at the Pritchard Community Center.
“Kosair Charities is honored and grateful for many years of support from the Brotherhood Banquet and the Elizabethtown community,” said Keith Inman, Kosair Charities president. “We are humbled by the generosity of the entire Elizabethtown community, the Knights of Columbus, and the RIASOK Shrine Club. The support is life changing for Kosair Kids®.”
The Brotherhood Banquet began with an idea and a friendship of two men in 1965, Thomas R. Clark, Sr., Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and William J. Harris, President of the RIASOK Shrine Club. Since its inception, the Brotherhood Banquet has raised over $750,000. Children in the Elizabethtown community benefit from this support through Kosair Charities’ financial assistance for families in need of help with their children’s medical bills. Most recently Kosair Charities provided grant funding for the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
“Elizabethtown Knights of Columbus and the RIASOK Shrine Club extend our heartfelt gratitude to Phillips Homes, all banquet sponsors and to the Elizabethtown, Hardin and surrounding counties for their support of this ongoing community event,” said Tom Clark, Jr., local business owner and one banquet organizer. “The money raised has continued to bless our community in many ways and my father, Thomas Clark, Sr. and William Harris would be very proud of their legacy.”
Special this year, Phillips Homes donated the proceeds of the sale of a newly constructed Elizabethtown home to Kosair Charities as part of the Brotherhood Banquet fundraising efforts. The grand total of $71,500 was possible due to the support of many generous sponsors and supporters of the Brotherhood Banquet and the Phillips Homes project.
