Local chefs, Kendra Scott, help support Kosair Kids ®
Louisville, KY— November 19, 2018 — Fifteen local chefs, auctioneer and owner of Mr. “P” Express Alan Parnell, Rachel Collier, retailer Kendra Scott and many more lent their talents to support the fourth annual Kosair Charities Annual Pie Auction on Sunday. Presented by truckload contract carrier, Mister “P” Express, attendees had the opportunity to bid on custom desserts and unique holiday gifts in time for both Thanksgiving and the holiday season.
“Who wouldn’t want to serve a pie exclusively made by a local chef at their Thanksgiving, or start holiday shopping with jewelry designed by a Kosair Kid” said Keith Inman, President of Kosair Charities. “This event brings together unique aspects of our community to help our most precious gift of all – children.”
This year’s event, emceed by WDRB’s Rachel Collier, included a live auction featuring 30 holiday desserts, a silent auction filled with a variety of holiday gifts and desserts, as well as an exclusive Kendra Scott jewelry trunk show experience. The trunk show featured signature pieces designed by Kosair Kid®, Kendall and Kosair Kids Club Member, Olivia. Net proceeds supported Kosair Charities.
“Mister “P Express strongly believes in giving back to our community, especially when it comes to the lives of children. Our company motto is the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” said Cindy Collier, co-owner with husband, Allan Parnell. “The heart of Mister “P” Express begins at the root of the company; we are dedicated to our community and strongly support Kosair Charities and what they do to assist children in need.”
The highest live auction item was Pie Cookies made by local kids, which sold for $2,000. The event was held on Sunday, Nov. 18 from 2 – 5 p.m. at The Shrine Center on Bardstown Road.
