The leaves are falling and turning golden yellow, red and orange, a brisk breeze fills the air, this could mean only one thing… the start of
the Holiday Season!
A great way to share in the spirit of the upcoming Holidays is to spend time in the kitchen with your child creating special memories and delicious treats for everyone to enjoy.
Keep in mind these 3 simple steps as you enjoy your kitchen activity together:

Getting Ready to Cook:
- Be sure to first wash and dry hands before touching food or utensils.
- Select a recipe that will be fun and simple.
- Make sure all ingredients are readily available.
- Have an apron or towel ready for quick cleanups and spills.

Keep it Safe for Everyone:
- Be careful with knives.
- Place any pan-handles in the middle of stove to avoid interaction when passing by.
- Use potholders for removing dishes, pots, and pans from oven.
- After cooking remember to turn off all stove dials.

Clean Up:
- Put away any ingredients not used.
- Clean and dry all dishes.
- Remember to wipe off stove and burner surfaces after it has cooled.
- Mop any spills to avoid accidents.
