W. Barnett Owen Society

Over the years, thoughtful, caring donors and friends of Kosair Charities have made gifts through their wills or estate plans.
Their care and concern for the health of children assures that Kosair Kids of today and into the future will receive medical treatment regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

“For years, I have given to the children’s charities I care about, and when the time came to choose who to include in my will, Kosair Charities was an easy choice. They do such wonderful work.” - Katie Shea
Persons who include Kosair Charities in their will or estate plans are recognized as members of the W. Barnett Owen Society. The Society is named in honor of Dr. Owen, the first orthopedic specialist in Kentucky who had a vision for improving the lives of children and provided the momentum for building the Kosair Crippled Children Hospital.
A donor may become a member of the W. Barnett Owen Society by providing a gift through:
- a provision in their will
- a gift of an existing or new insurance policy
- naming Kosair Charities as a beneficiary of their IRA or other retirement plan
